It's been a while...

That it has. What's more with the event of Facebook, Ringo etc I'm not even sure that anyone reads this thing anymore... but for those enthusiasts out there I will write on!

June/July has been pretty manic so far... it all started in June with a trip to Scotland and the Edinburgh Sevens which was pretty awesome. The boys won not only the Edinburgh leg, but the series. More to follow...

My job is mental!

Ha ha, I love that I have a job that I get to write sentences like this:

"The ponies love staying at your summer camp! What have they done so far?
Wysteria loved walking through the forest, and Pinky Pie liked the picnic in the meadow! Swimming in the lake was Rainbow Dash's favouite activity, and Minty thought that toasting marshmallows on the pony camping trip was simply the best! Look at the sleepy ponies – they’re tired from their busy day! What have you got planned for tomorrow?"

I'm immersed in the midst of My Little Pony mania! But it's much better than punching numbers into a computer huh?

Amster-damn it was great!!

Wow what a place!!
Beautiful, fun, friendly - the city of Amsterdam definitely ticks all the boxes!
The girls and I truly fell in love with the city during our May Bank Holiday visit. With its canals, bicycles, cafes and shopping the coffeeshops (which are for many the biggest lure) hardly got a look in! We ticked a couple of the tourist boxes with a canal tour, a visit to the Anne Frank house, and an afternoon cycling around the city. We met up with some awesome Aussie dudes who were staying in the same hostel as us, and dragged them to 11 - a funky graffitti covered bar/club on the 11th floor of a once abandoned building.

I bought a copy of 'Get Lost' an awesome alternative guide to Amsterdam, featuring writeups on everything from shopping and dining, to squat bars and brothels! Three days simply wasn't long enough though - Amsterdam is one city I'll be seeing a lot more of!!

Sunny days, everything's A-okay...

Isn't it amazing how a couple of sunny days lifts the mood of a whole city? Things are suddenly looking a lot brighter in London now that the sun has regained its rightful place in the sky and the first BBQ of the season has been had. Looking forward to the upcoming bank holiday - the girls and I are off to Amsterdam. I'll provide a full report on the tulips and windmills on my return!

Meribel

Just got back from an awesome week in Meribel - I had forgotten how great it is to be in a snow town again! Em was great, she put us up (and put up with us!) for the whole time we were there, introducing us to her awesome workmates and buddies and showing us a great time in general. It was fantastic to get onto a snowboard again - the first time I'd ridden since breaking my leg in a million pieces! Can't wait for next winter!

From the factory to the red carpet.

Lizzie and I had literally come 'straight from the factory' when we rocked up to the London premiere of Sienna Miller's new film Factory Girl at Leicester Square last night. I'd been given tickets to my very first West End premiere through work, and disreguarding the 'Cool Glamour' dress code written on the invite, thought it would be fine to rock up in my (very casual) work clothes. Fast forward to 6:45pm, and Lizzie and I scuffling down the red carpet in trainers and dufflecoats in front of a stand of paparazzi, all vying for a shot of the stars signing autographs behind us!! I swear they were all wondering who had let the two homeless girls loose on the scarlet rug!!

Summer? What's that?

Isn't it great how when it's dark and dismal, rainy and cold in the city that you're living... when you're sitting at your London desk in the knowledge that it WILL be dark outside when you leave for the day (or leave for your lunch for that matter...) that your friends from home feel the need to email through pictures of sun and surf, and send you text messages like 'Surfn @ Piha. Gettn crazy brnt. Fkn hot!'
I just love it. Just you wait til June... then it will be all "Aucklands sooo cold..." and I'll be like, "Here's a pic of me sunbathing in the Mediterranean. Please note the large jug of Sangria and the bronzed god fanning me with a palm frond." he he he.
